Hi I was asked by CAF( Child Alert Foundation)http://www.ChildAlert.org to help spread the word about a boy who was the victom of a hit and run driver.Here is a clip of his story.

Eric, at the age of 10, was a victom of a hit and run driver and left with every bone in his body broken. He has a 68 degree bend in his spine, is paralyzed from his neck down. He has daily migrane headaches. To add heart ache to misery for his family, the insurance cancelled out on them.

The current van the family owns is old and not as reliable for the over 100 mile required trips to the hospital. Eric will be facing surgury to relieve pressure where his spine is restricting circulation of blood The doctors will try to straighten it with a series of rods, but even so, it's a dangerous proceedure. Please pray for Eric and his family.His family is loving and devoted to his care, but resources are limited. Help us to get them a new van!

Your music helped me while I was going through the most difficult time & change in my life. I found recovery from my addiction to all mind alterating substances. I know my following request has nothing to do with your career & life, but if you have the time and since you have the connections, I am hoping that you can assist our family. Even if your unable to, I wish you much success with your career & in your personal life. You're AWESOME.

I am desperately seeking assistance with my quest to locate an "Adult" wish granting foundation here in Canada, who's mandate is to assist low income families where an adult who has a terminal illness, can have their "last wishes" granted or provided. Ross Ward was diagnosed with secondary terminal cancer in his liver & spleen in June 1999, he has undergone 4 different chemo treatment programs. They work to a point and then the treatments become ineffective, so they switch him to a different treatment. He recently was a participant in a "clinical trials" chemo treatment program, and was receiving encouraging results until it too be came ineffective, and now it seems that the "primary" cancer source has become active again. We are racing against time. We can provide proof of our plight and would be willing to do so in order to meet any requirements for assistance. My husband-to-be (wedding June 16, 2001 & God Willing) has recently been re-united by email & telephone, with his immediate family in Ontario, Quebec & Nova Scotia, he hasn't seen his 2 children since the mid 60's when he lost them to adoption. He desperately would love to travel by motor home across Canada to visit his brother, sister, cousins, niece & nephew's, and his children and he'd love to take his 2 youngest son's from his second marriage to meet all of their relatives & older brother & sister. Of course all of this depends on his strength and health. He does have a class 1 drivers license.

Would your organization be able to make arrangements for a local motorhome dealer to "loan" us the use of a motor home & provide finances to do this much needed "last wish" for Ross? I realize this is a lot to ask, and should you not be able to assist us would you know of the person, foundation, large corporation who can fulfill this for our family. I have been searching for 4 months now and have done extensive searches on the internet with NO success. I have left numerous email to various organizations such as the United Way, Rotary Clubs, Hospice, Odd fellows, The Order of Eagles, Cancer Foundations, Children's Wish Granting Foundations, Make A Wish Foundation, etc. I've sent emails to our local newspapers, television stations, motor-home dealers & large corporations such as Wal-Mart & General Motors and I have not succeeded.

I found two such organizations in the USA, however they are unable to assist families outside of their country or state. So far from my inquirers, I've discovered that there is a HUGE need in Canada for an "ADULT" wish granting foundation (for those 18 years & older). I have NOT been able to find ONE SINGLE FOUNDATION that providesthese "Humanitarian" services to "Adults & their families" who have terminal illnesses and who can't afford such a fulfilling, spiritual need.

Sarah, Sarah, Sarah. I am a huge fan of your early work. But it seems your music became a little flaky with your last recording. But somehow that became your most popular record (Surfacing). Don't get me wrong, I still think you're a wonderful artist and a national treasure, but I wish you wouldn't worry about being so radio friendly on your next record. When I first bought Surfacing, I honestly couldn't believe it was a product of Sarah McLachlan. Lyrically it wasn't particularly moving - strangely the songs I liked the least on the album became the biggest successes (Angel and Adia). What happened to you? You used to be so amazing and you totally sold out to become a slave to the radio. I know Solace and Fumbling did get some radio play, but the songs that made it to the radio were incredible songs and when I heard them I was excited for you but now you are writing painfully obvious songs that really mean nothing. If Lorrie Morgan is covering your songs, you know you have a problem. So, please Sarah, for your next album, please take more care in your song writing. I'm dreading a bunch of "I'm so happy I have babies" songs. Please resist! Sorry, if I seem snarky, and really why should you care about what I've written. I'm just an old fan who would like to become a fan again.

Sarah, My favorite song, Angel, was also the favorite song of one of my best friends and fellow high school band members. He died tragically in May and they played Angel at his funeral. Now every time I hear it, it reminds me of him. Thank you for writing such a beautiful song.
